That “article” was thirty seconds of my life that I’ll never get back.
I think the original poster is an idiot who doesn’t understand the first thing about freedom, liberty or the Constitution.
His poll (asking who would best represent socialism) says it all.
I think your heart is in the right place, but you should have said President Clinton, since Bush’s term will be up. Or else your should have elucidated more on how Bush would do away with the election, etc.
Just saying….
Kevin: It’s funny that both you and the illustrious author missed what I wrote in my comment response:
“President Bush convinced Congress to increase the Presidential term limit to indefinite in 2008, due to the escalating war in the middle East.”
I was employing hyperbole, I admit. But I am a little bit afraid that Bush might try to extend his term; after all, when we go into Iran, he could use the excuse for the war. And since Congress rammed the Patriot Act through without even reading it, I wouldn’t put it past Congress to pass without question some more emergency powers.
