Ron Paul Second in Louisiana!
Congressman Ron Paul was in (what sources say was an extremely close race) second place to McCain, and Villere said, “I applaud the supporters of Congressman Paul for their enthusiasm…I left the caucus with a renewed commitment to promote…limited government and individual freedom, thanks to the zeal displayed by Congressman Paul’s Louisiana supporters.”
Article is here at ConnieTalk. ABC news Australia has a story where they call Paul a “longshot,” even though he’s taken second place in two states so far.
UPDATE: here is a link from the Louisiana GOP.
Also, here is a nice artcle at Nolan Chart describing provisional voting:
First provisional votes are not yet included in the count. Provisional votes are all those cast by recently registered Republicans. Paul tends to have a lot of supporters who recently registered Republican to vote for him, so prsumably as these votes are verified and counted his numbers will rise.
So we may see a surge of votes coming in–wouldn’t it be excellent to give Paul a win!
