Liberal Fascism
I recommend reading “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg. It really spells out how the modern Liberal Left is actually based on fascism, and how the Conservative Right (I’m talking true conservatives here, or rather, Classical Liberal thinking) is completely misunderstood. The people on the Left are Fascists in American clothing, and most of them don’t even realize it. They have no idea their intellectual heritage comes from the Progressive movement around the turn of the 20th century, inspired by Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin.
The mainstream media continues to couch things in partisan terms: Republican vs Democrat. But the reality is that both parties have become fascist platforms designed to take away your individual liberty and replace it with false security, political correctness, victim-hood mentality and identity politics. And the glaring fact is that we are heading for financial ruin, all caused by bad government policies.
“Liberal Fascism” is an excellent read, and I find I can’t put it down. All of the sacred cows we are taught in school are turned on their heads with this book. In fact, after reading it, I challenge you watch the Mainstream News again and view it in the same light. You will begin to see how everything is couched in terms of the accepted political correct thinking. But conventional wisdom is failing everyone.
The underlying tone is that capitalists are inherently evil. Not only is this theme repeated over and over again on the news, but movies also take on this ideology. The businessman is always the bad guy–wealth is amassed by those who steal it. So the business world must be “reigned in” by government. To quote:
Many liberals are correct when they bemoan the collusion of government and corporations. They even have a point when they decry special deals for Halliburton or Archer Daniels Midland as proof of creeping fascism. What they misunderstand completely is that this is the system they set up. This is the system they want. This is the system they mobilize and march for.
Again, we turn conventional wisdom on its head. The very idea that government can control and “rein” in business means that business can collude with it too. And they do. In fact, corporations have actually begged the Federal Government for regulation. Why? Because they know it cuts out the little guy and helps eliminate competition. Who suffers? The consumer of course, because it limits the free market choices you have.
But these days, this is not just liberal thinking. The “conservatives” think this way too. Or should I borrow a term from Ron Paul and call them “neo-conservatives.”
